Responsibilities
Create fast 0→1 functional prototypes using AI coding tools
Iterate rapidly on existing products
Shape how analysts interact with Mercata's knowledge graph
Work closely with the CEO and CTO
Drive short, fast feedback loops
Translate understanding of front-office analyst behavior into elegant interfaces
Create functional prototypes at high velocity using AI-assisted coding tools
Develop a clear interaction model for analysts navigating time-aware data
Iterate directly with users to refine UX based on real usage
Improve and consolidate Mercata's existing UI
Establish a culture of rapid prototyping and thoughtful workflow design
Make Mercata materially better through deeper usage and user satisfaction
Qualification
Required
2-4 years Front-office capital markets experience (buy-side or sell-side research, PM team, or having built tools directly for analysts/PMs) with a deep understanding of how analysts work: evaluating companies, tracking changes, forming theses, and operating under time pressure
Comfortable iterating quickly and building functional UI with Cursor, Lovable, Replit, or other tools instead of only Figma mock-ups
Strong workflow and interaction design instincts for data-dense, multi-step research workflows
Startup experience
Low ego, high ownership, strong communication
