Required

Have a Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
Have three years of experience in performing engineering work
A master's degree in engineering may be substituted for the Bachelor of Science degree in engineering OR for two years of experience requirement
Some positions in this class require an Engineer-In-Training certificate from the State of Maryland
Some positions in this class require an Engineering Technologist certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
Some positions in this class require current licensure as a Professional Engineer issued by the Maryland State Board of Professional Engineers or equivalent out-of-state license
Some positions in this class require a valid Maryland Class C Non-Commercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver's permit
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Knowledge of the methods of engineering analysis
Ability to develop engineering plans, designs, specifications and material and cost estimates
Ability to assign, review and approve the work of engineering personnel
Ability to write technical reports
Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing
