Qualification
Required
Have a high school diploma or GED certification from an accredited institution
Have two years of experience in office work, including one year of experience processing permits
Have an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of basic English grammar, spelling and punctuation
Knowledge of office management practices and procedures
Knowledge of permit structures and requirements
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with inspectors, public, and officials
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to type or keyboard clean copy at a specific rate of speed and accuracy
Ability to understand and follow simple written or oral instructions
Ability to deal courteously with employees at all levels of government, and to work effectively with varying temperaments, both in person and by telephone
