Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII, is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and contributes significantly to the economic growth of Alabama. They are seeking a summer intern in Structural and Aerospace Engineering to perform a variety of duties including constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas

Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems

Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions

Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format

Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions

Required

Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May)

Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company's business requirements. Typically, in the following areas: Structural, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (Most recent college transcripts will be required and must be uploaded in the system at the time of application)

Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the fall following the internship

Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical and a hair follicle drug screen

Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer
