Responsibilities
Developing and iterating on UAV and robotics software used in defense-focused environments
Working directly with operators to understand how the system behaves in the field
Prototyping UAV features, running flight tests, collecting feedback and refining quickly
Supporting mapping, navigation, perception and mission capabilities for aerial robots
Troubleshooting live issues in the field and shaping product direction based on operator needs
Collaborating with autonomy, hardware and product teams to take UAV systems from lab to deployment
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with UAVs or drones
Strong C++ skills and solid robotics software foundations
Experience with navigation, mapping, or computer vision
Comfort working directly with end users, operators and field teams
Ability to operate without rigid requirements and iterate through trial and error
A proactive, hands-on mindset suited to small, fast-moving engineering teams
Preferred
PX4 or Ardupilot experience
