Responsibilities
Verifies conformance of parts to detailed drawings
Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts
Tests operation of assembly by hand
Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications
Support operations by designing and building parts, equipment, weld tooling, gauges, fixtures, etc
Troubleshoot and repair tooling, gauges, fixtures, etc
Communicate with management, engineers, technicians, and production personnel
Direct and/or participate in lean manufacturing projects for improvement in quality, cost and delivery
Sharpening of drill bits and other perishable tooling to support production needs
Responsible for inventory of perishable tooling
Other duties may be assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 7 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated learning agility
Excellent understanding of machining processes and safety controls
Preferred
Proficiency with AutoCAD is strongly preferred
