Responsibilities
Lead with Vision by setting technical standards and best practices—and demonstrating them through your own contributions to the codebase
Show Up to Coach Up by conducting regular 1:1s, creating development plans, and mentoring engineers through hands-on code reviews and collaborative problem-solving
Get Sh•t Done by actively contributing to feature development and technical implementation while keeping your team unblocked and shipping quality software
Go Bold by identifying optimization opportunities and driving adoption of DevOps and CI/CD practices through direct involvement
Be Decisive by translating business requirements into implementation plans and making technical decisions informed by hands-on experience

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of software development experience with active coding contributions throughout your career
3+ years of engineering management experience where you maintained hands-on technical involvement
Strong, current technical background with modern software architecture expertise—you code regularly, not just theoretically
Proven experience leading teams building cloud-native applications on AWS
Track record of delivering complex software projects on time and on budget
Comfort and preference for hybrid work arrangements with flexibility for remote team management and in-person collaboration when it matters most
Genuine enthusiasm for person-to-person interactions —you thrive on mentoring, pair programming, and building strong team relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments
AWS Cloud Infrastructure - Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB
Microservices Architecture - Spring Boot and serverless computing patterns
CI/CD Pipelines - Infrastructure as code and deployment automation
RESTful API Design - Modern API development and implementation
Agile Methodologies - Proven ability to implement and scale agile processes
Preferred
Experience scaling engineering organizations and processes
Background in financial technology or regulated industries
Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience with containerization orchestration (Kubernetes)
Background implementing engineering metrics and performance indicators
Experience managing distributed, remote-first teams
Track record of fostering strong team culture across hybrid environments
