Responsibilities

Support design efforts and work under direction of project managers
Ability to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final construction documents
Perform horizontal and vertical alignment designs
Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards and constructability methods
Ability to work independently on engineering assignments
Able to direct entry-level staff and technicians
Assist with design and plans development
Assist with scheduling and estimating while generate work for others
Experience in final design projects for large and small-scale public transportation improvement projects
Ability to work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agencies
Develop project management and budgeting skills

Qualification

PE CertificationHighway/Roadway DesignMicroStationAutoCADCivil Engineering DegreeInRoadsOpenRoadsNJDOT ExperienceNJTA ExperienceMicrosoft Office 365Communication SkillsTechnical Writing Skills

Required

8 to 15+ years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation
BS in Civil Engineering, MS is a plus
PE Certification required
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
Ability to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final construction documents
