Moffatt & Nichol is a leading U.S.-based global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of waterfront and marine facilities. They are seeking an entry-level Engineer with a structural focus to perform planning and design for waterfront structures projects, including heavy lift cargo ports and marine terminals.

Responsibilities

Analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, and other maritime projects

Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials

Prestressed concrete analysis and design

Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed

Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project

Calculate construction quantity estimates

Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects

Review shop drawings and technical submittals for construction support services

Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with Structural coursework required

EIT required

Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)

Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history

All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred

2 to 4 years of structural engineering experience working in a civil/structural design firm is strongly preferred. Internship experience working in a civil/structural firm will be considered

Preferred experience using: SAP2000 or STAAD, LPile, AutoCAD
