Vice President, Application Development Manager

Responsibilities

Lead engineering for resilient, high-throughput financial systems supporting institutional workflows
Architect platforms that integrate settlement, custody, and ledgering with digital-asset technologies
Ensure reliability, performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
Build scalable hybrid architectures bridging on-chain and off-chain systems (smart contracts, blockchain events, and traditional controls)
Develop and mentor engineering talent, fostering ownership, velocity, technical rigor, and modern SDLC practices
Lead and mentor an Agile pod of 4–5 engineers, driving delivery excellence and collaboration
Design and build Java microservices (Java 17 plus, spring Boot, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate) on Kubernetes with focus on performance, scalability, and security
Implement REST APIs with resilience and async messaging; apply CQRS, Saga, and Event Sourcing
Integrate off-chain services with Ethereum smart contracts (Solidity) and Web3, ensuring secure and compliant interactions
Own Oracle schema design, SQL/PLSQL optimization, partitioning, and transactional integrity
Establish CI/CD automation (Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub Pipelines) with quality gates (SonarQube, static analysis) and coding standards
Lead automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and API (JUnit, Mockito, TestNG, REST Assured, Cucumber) embedded in regression pipelines
Operationalize observability (Prometheus, Grafana) for proactive monitoring and rapid incident response
Partner with product, architecture, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, resilient solutions
Embed regulatory and risk controls (AML, KYC, travel rule) in design and delivery

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Typically, 6-10 years of experience in application development management or a related field
Expertise in Java 17 plus, spring Boot, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate
Experience with microservices, REST, resilience, async messaging
Hands-on Kubernetes (orchestration, scaling) experience
Oracle DB (schema, SQL/PLSQL, optimization, partitioning) experience
People Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams (4–5 engineers)
Ability to set technical direction and manage Agile delivery
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
Cross-functional collaboration skills
Clear technical communication skills
Proactive learning mindset

Preferred

Advanced degree or relevant certifications in Software Engineering or Project Management
Practical experience with Ethereum, Solidity, and Web3 integrations
Financial services or payments experience
Blockchain/crypto transaction processing experience
Regulatory compliance (AML, KYC, travel rule) experience
High-volume/low-latency and multi-threaded systems experience
