Senior Property Accountant

This role involves overseeing property accounting for a diverse portfolio, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with various teams on active projects.

Responsibilities
Oversee property-level accounting, including general ledger activity, bank reconciliations, and reporting
Prepare accurate financial statements, variance analyses, and performance reports for management
Lead month-end and year-end close processes for assigned properties
Partner with development, property management, and asset management teams on active projects
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
Support audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Mentor junior accounting team members and contribute to process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate or property accounting
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and property accounting best practices
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to thrive independently while collaborating in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
CPA preferred
