Responsibilities
Research, develop, design, and test equipment, components, and systems for commercial and industrial applications
Design and develop field instrumentation and control systems for onshore oil & gas facilities
Prepare Instrument Equipment Specifications, Data Sheets, Purchase Requisitions, and Bid Evaluations for field instruments, control valves, flow meters, PLCs, SCADA systems, safety systems, F&G panels, and condition-monitoring systems
Conduct technical evaluations and assess equipment/material suitability; provide bid clarifications and prepare comprehensive technical reports to support order placement
Lead technical discussions and coordinate meetings with suppliers and clients
Prepare instrument designs, engineering calculations, and bills of material
Collaborate with instrumentation, automation, and design teams to deliver complete engineering and design deliverables across multiple projects
Develop key engineering documents including instrument index, cause & effect charts, and P&ID”S
Assist in the development of location plans, installation details, junction box details, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and I/O panel schedules
Create innovative and reliable design solutions tailored to project needs
Review and approve vendor documentation for compliance and quality
Ensure quality control for all Instrumentation discipline deliverables
Interface with Project Management, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution
Qualification
Required
Experience with the engineering and design of onshore oil & gas facilities (Compressor Stations, Well Pads, and Downstream Refineries) involving field instrumentation, control systems, and related equipment and materials
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
BSc, MSc or equivalent in electrical / chemical engineering is required
10+ years of experience
Preferred
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Microsoft Product Suite (Access a Plus)
NCEES P.E. License
