Design Project Coordinator I, II, III, IV - Central Design / Abilene
The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking Design Project Coordinators at various levels to oversee design and construction projects. The role involves coordinating work among various entities, making design calculations, and potentially leading teams to ensure project success.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Coordinates design work among TxDOT entities, consultants and contractors
Designs projects, making design calculations and sketches of plans, layouts and typical sections
May assist in planning and coordinating office operations
May schedule, coordinate and prepare documents for public hearings
May serve as a lead worker or project leader
Receives project assignments, determines work requirements to complete project plans and coordinates scheduling to accommodate projects already underway
Reviews and compiles complete plan packages for submission to the responsible engineer or architect for review and signature
Reviews environmental documents
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
Serves as program coordinator responsible for coordination of complex engineering/architectural projects from initiation to completion
May lead project or planning activities of professional and technical employees or consultants
Assists in planning and coordinating office operations
Provides training for area of responsibility
Serves as lead worker and subject matter expert
Qualification
Required
High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies
7 YEARS Design, plan preparation, construction inspection, surveying (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) for Design Project Coordinator I
8 YEARS Design, plan preparation, construction inspection, surveying (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) for Design Project Coordinator II
9 YEARS Design, plan preparation, construction inspection, surveying (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) for Design Project Coordinator III
9 YEARS Design, plan preparation, construction inspection, surveying (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) for Design Project Coordinator IV
Valid driver's license
Computer-aided drafting and design systems
Applicable engineering workstations and applications to support efficient planning and design activities
Program/project planning, development, and management methodologies
Building code standards and industry guidelines
Performing advanced drafting
Planning, assigning, directing, coordinating and reviewing the work of professional, administrative and technical employees
Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others
Maintaining a safe and effective working relationship with others
Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs. at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Standing-prolonged periods of time
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
Must pass a drug test prior to employment for safety impact positions
This is a Safety Impact position and will be subject to random drug testing
