Professional Transportation Engineer - Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Alliant Engineering, Inc. is a growing engineering and consulting firm seeking a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Engineer to join their transportation team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves developing construction phasing and MOT plans, collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to create optimal traffic control solutions while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities
Be a valuable member of a cohesive project team that develops MOT, construction staging, and traffic control plans on complex traditional or alternative delivery projects
Generate innovative construction staging alternatives that optimize traffic operations while maximizing constructability and safety
Develop temporary construction plans, including roadway geometrics, alignments, profiles, models, and drainage
Develop traffic control plans, including temporary signing, striping, safety devices, and detours
Author Traffic Management Plans (TMP) to analyze and document impacts and mitigation techniques to businesses, residents, and surrounding roadway systems
Work closely with contractors and owners to understand constructability needs and project MOT goals
Mentor less experienced team members and promote the growth of their technical skills
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain MN licensure within 6 months
4+ years of progressive experience developing MOT, construction staging, or traffic control design and plans
Experienced manager and mentor to staff
Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Technical expertise using Microstation/Geopak and Open Roads Designer on transportation projects
Commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule
Preferred
Design-Build or CM/GC experience preferred
