Scalable Systems is seeking a highly experienced CATIA BIW Design Engineer to support Body-in-White development activities for automotive programs at Honda. This role involves advanced 3D design work, packaging studies, manufacturability analysis, and collaboration with engineering and CAE teams.

Responsibilities

Perform 3D design of BIW components using CATIA with high precision and adherence to design standards

Collaborate with vehicle styling, packaging, and CAE teams to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements

Apply DFM principles to optimize designs for manufacturability, weldability, tooling, and assembly

Support vehicle-level engineering by understanding structural, crash, NVH, and rigidity requirements

Utilize CATIA v6 (3DEXPERIENCE) for design, version control, release workflows, and data management

Develop VBA and EKL automation scripts to streamline design tasks, reduce manual work, and enhance efficiency (highly preferred)

Handle multiple design projects and support requests simultaneously with strong organizational capability

Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements utilizing modern industry methodologies and toolsets

Communicate actively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on design intent, constraints, and analysis feedback

Act as a self-starter—able to work independently with minimal guidance while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
