Sr. Accountant
TEC Equipment, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, is a leading provider of heavy-duty trucks and related services. The Senior Accountant will provide a wide range of accounting support, including financial reporting and job costing, while interacting with management and external auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

Responsibilities
Preparation and review of monthly internal and external reports including quarterly debt covenant certificates provided to various lenders
Research and analyze technical positions and compliance efforts related to GAAP, including the implementation of new policies and standards
Maintain adequate knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting aspects tied to specific balance sheet accounts and cash flow. Responsible for preparing monthly statement of cash flow
Set up and maintain the COA, account mapping, and reporting structure for consistency and completeness and in accordance with GAAP
Responsible for a wide range of month-end close related responsibilities and monthly balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to the warranty receivable transactions and revenue recognition compliance
Analyze complex financial information and provide recommendations to Management on opportunities to improve profits and reduce business risk. Responsible for the quarterly balance sheet flux analysis and monthly corporate overhead analysis
Perform ad-hoc research and projects as needed. Rely on professional experience and judgement to assess risk and pursue accounting issues independently. Resolve or report to management as needed. Be able to write technical memos as needed
Review debt, lease and other agreements for accounting considerations. Report to management and/or write-up summary of impacts as needed
Interface with external audit teams and assist with overall administration of the company’s external audits
Provide excellent customer service to cross functional members of the TEC Team
Support cycle of continuous improvement in process and controls. Apply structured problem solving techniques to create robust, enduring process workflows
Manage workload and proactively communicate with Management when there are unexpected challenges
Partner with IT and FP&A on the implementation of system enhancements and reporting initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 3-5 years of experience
Excellent in-depth knowledge of US GAAP is required
Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills are required for frequent interaction with financial and non-financial management teams
Independent problem-solving skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Attention to detail while at the same time able to understand big picture/overall strategy & business impacts
Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel
Ability to influence in a cross-functional fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to successfully oversee direct reports and serve as positive role model in alignment with the TEC Way
Ability to utilize sound judgment in successfully managing ambiguous situations or changes in direction and priorities
