The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile depreciation
Analyze financial information and prepare reports that summarize financial status
Provide variance analysis and explain fluctuations in revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting procedures and internal controls
Partner with operations, HR, procurement, and other departments on financial matters
Assist with process improvements, systems implementations, and automation efforts
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks a must)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) Required
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Preferred
CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
