NEOGOV is seeking motivated individuals to join the South Carolina Department of Insurance as Senior Auditors/Analysts. In this role, you will help protect South Carolina consumers by evaluating the financial strength and solvency of insurance companies operating in the state, working under the direction of the Supervising Financial Analyst.

Evaluate the financial strength and solvency of insurance companies operating in the state
Review statutory and/or GAAP financial statements
Assess risks
Identify solvency concerns
Determine compliance with state laws and NAIC guidance
Analyze company financial statements
Analyze audited financial reports
Analyze actuarial opinions
Analyze holding company filings
Analyze NAIC solvency tools
Analyze financial indicators to understand trends, ratios, and emerging risks

Qualification

Accounting degreeFinancial analysisMicrosoft ExcelGAAP knowledgeStatutory accounting principlesRisk managementAuditing experienceProfessional writingCommunication skillsTeam collaboration

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related field
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Preferred

Coursework or experience in accounting or auditing
1–3 years of financial analysis experience
Progress toward certifications such as CPA, CFE, ARe, or CPCU
