Senior Advanced Engineering Technician

The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will lead and mentor technicians while supporting engineering activities related to the design, testing, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities

Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems
Maintain test equipment, calibration, and lab supplies. Research and order parts and equipment in support of maintaining lab operations
Coordinate lab space, equipment usage, and testing for all programs within GDMS that require Electrical Engineering analog power support
Maintain RF test equipment and provide support for the EMI Test Lab
Ensure area compliance to Environmental Health and Safety policies and conduct daily/monthly Safety Awareness Monitor (SAM) inspections of lab areas
Ensure proper PPE/ESD and electrical safety standards are being followed by lab users

Required

Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire
U.S. citizenship is required
Understands implications of work and provides applicable solutions
Distinct knowledge of specialized function and proficiency in application and interpretation of complex specifications, requirements, standards and practices
Familiarity with relevant industry standards including MIL-STD-461G EMI/EMC and MIL-STD-1399
