Responsibilities

Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment

Identify and request parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding

Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders

Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities

Required

High School diploma or equivalent GED

Entry-level or 1 year of technical experience

Computer-literate

Must be trainable and coachable

Ability to learn customer specifications and standards

Excellent communication skills; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills

Ability to learn time management while working on customer sites

Dependability - Follow instructions, respond to management direction; keep commitments

Experience in handling power tools

Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs

Must be willing and available to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 75%)
