WATER RESOURCES STAFF ENGINEER

They are seeking a Water Resources Staff Engineer to support the planning, review, and execution of water resources engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Review and analyze sketches, drawings, plans, and specifications for proposed projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and approved materials
Perform field work, take measurements, and compile/analyze data to support project decisions
Identify discrepancies in results and recommend effective solutions
Serve as a liaison between engineering and construction units, and meet with clients, customers, and contractors regarding utility services
Prioritize work based on project requirements to ensure effective resource utilization
Provide input into departmental objectives, work plans, and budgets
Respond to internal and external customer concerns in a professional and timely manner
Promote teamwork, safety, and a positive work environment
Prepare and maintain accurate reports and records
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
OR Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited two-year college/technical school
EI certification required at time of hire
Good knowledge of safety rules, civil engineering principles, and standard engineering practices
Skill in drawing engineering maps/sketches and applying logical deduction
Ability to perform accurate, complex mathematical computations and evaluate technical problems
Strong communication skills—both oral and written
Ability to interpret blueprints, prepare reports, and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, contractors, and the public
Preferred
Professional Engineer Intern (EI) certification
