Responsibilities

Work with the Commercial team with a focus on congestion modeling to identify opportunities and optimization of Talen Energy’s portfolio in the PJM market

Support day-ahead analysis and forecasting of congestion risks and opportunities through nodal/LMP modeling

Perform analysis of congestion risks associated with the company’s participation in monthly, annual, and long-term congestion auctions for the company's generation portfolio

Develop energy market forecasts to support the creation of an internal market view on the longer-term expectations for zonal and nodal power basis

Identify and develop improvements/new techniques in systems, data, and processes used in the performance of the position’s essential functions

Work collaboratively with functional groups, including Operations, Credit, Risk, and Accounting

Maintain and improve model input data to ensure accuracy of production cost modeling
