Instructor, Civil Engineering

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Instructor for its Civil Engineering Technology majors. The role involves developing and providing classroom and laboratory instruction, as well as assisting with program assessment and curriculum development in Civil Engineering technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success
Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons. Assist in the development of new and maintenance of existing courses/curricula. Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials
Ensure that students achieve course and learning outcomes as defined by the program chair
Complete, as directed, all start and end of semester responsibilities, including submission of no-show rosters, final grades and other designated materials to the requesting college office
Maintain office hours to answer student questions and handle course-related matters
Respond to requests (e.g., from students, administration, academia area chairs, department heads, committee chairs, records office, etc.) in a timely and thorough manner
Support College and Division outreach and recruiting events
Attend program, departmental, divisional, and college meetings
Serve on college committees, task force, and work groups
Some night or weekend hours may be required

Qualification

Required

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university
3-5 years of industry experience in BIM and VDC
Comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Teaching, training or instructional experience of technical topics

Preferred

Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
Industry experience in BIM
Teaching experience at the Secondary or Post-Secondary level. A teaching demonstration will be required during an interview process
