Senior Tax Accountant
JetBlue is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support and facilitate tax accounting, research, and planning for various taxes. The role involves collaborating with external advisors, preparing compliance plans, and maintaining technical tax skills while managing audits and process improvements.

Responsibilities
Support external advisors with audit, refunds and research projects
Prepare and implement compliance improvement plans
Maintain technical tax skills pertinent to the position
Perform research to support tax compliance and planning and implement updates
Prepare tax budgets and forecasts
Prepare and review tax accruals and analysis/reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts
Meet deadlines, including filing due dates and monthly financial reporting
Coordinate and assist with audits by tax authorities and internal/external financial audits
Recommend and assist with process improvements, including Vertex sales/use tax solution
Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained
Occasional supervision of staff
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or an equivalent field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
Three (3) years of property, sales & tax or related experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
Adept analytical, accounting and documentation skills
Multi-state sales and tax audit experience
Capable of working independently and in a team environment
Experience with ERP systems (SAP and Vertex preferred)
Proficient with Microsoft Office (including spreadsheet expertise), tax compliance and research systems
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
