The Wall Street Journal is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Recruiter to join their Talent Acquisition team. This role involves managing the full life-cycle of recruitment for the WSJ newsroom, identifying top talent, and ensuring an excellent candidate experience while collaborating with hiring managers and business leaders.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Managing Editor’s Office in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract top talent to the WSJ newsroom
Manage and drive the full-cycle recruiting process, overseeing job postings, reviewing applications and managing candidates from initial screenings and assessments through final offer negotiation
Manage multiple searches at once with a sense of urgency, prioritizing effectively and anticipating roadblocks before they arise
Ensure hiring managers are presented with qualified candidate pools that offer a broad representation of experience and background
Provide hiring managers with tools and best practices to ensure consistent interview and selection process across the newsroom
Maintain a talent database of candidate records, including active and passive prospects
Foster strong relationships with business leaders to support proactive talent management
Be an expert in problem-solving for the newsroom's recruitment needs, with the ability to create solutions with the TA tools in place, and enjoy getting in the weeds to operationalize
Be an effective communicator who can influence busy newsroom editors and work effectively with the Global People Team
Collaborate with HR and TA teammates to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals and talent initiatives

Qualification

Required

5-7 years experience in recruitment preferably in media or a newsroom environment
Experience in full life-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and closing candidates
An ability to think outside the box and solve problems creatively
Demonstrated experience using recruitment tools and technologies, including applicant tracking systems (Workday preferred)
Exceptional communication, project management, and organizational skills
Based in the NYC area, with the ability to be in the office minimally 4 days per week
Willingness to travel over the summer to attend journalism fairs
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
