Postdoctoral Resident

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the largest nonprofit addiction recovery organization in the United States, dedicated to providing hope and healing. The Postdoctoral Resident will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, while participating in a multidisciplinary team and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

Provide mental health assessment, ensuring proper placement and identifying barriers to recovery and stability
Provide individual and/or group therapy utilizing evidence-based intervention strategies and best practices
Provide mental health consultation and information in order to educate patients, customers, and staff members regarding the dynamics of mental health issues in recovery. Seek and receive consultation from others in order to provide comprehensive care
Facilitate crisis intervention to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients
Actively participate in ongoing education and learning activities, including but not limited to didactics and supervision, in order to produce the highest quality of service and expertise needed for the organization and competency development

Qualification

Doctoral degree in psychologyTwelve Step treatment knowledgeCrisis interventionMental health assessmentIndividual therapy

Required

Doctoral degree in psychology
Or doctorate level coursework, doctoral internship, and dissertation complete

Preferred

Knowledge of Twelve Step treatment approaches and stages of recovery
