Lead Inventory Systems Administrator

The Lead Inventory Systems Administrator will serve as the technical owner and subject-matter expert for the company's vendor-managed inventory programs, overseeing both software and hardware aspects while ensuring efficient operations across the network.
Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for Nelson-Jameson’s CribMaster vending software and related inventory systems
Manage user access, licensing, configurations, and updates to ensure secure and reliable system performance
Maintain data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement updates, resolve escalated issues, and optimize workflows
Assemble, install, and maintain vending machines and smart storeroom systems, ensuring connectivity, sensor accuracy, and operational readiness
Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and system validations to keep equipment running smoothly
Develop and maintain clear SOPs, cleaning procedures, and technical guides for both internal users and customers
Manage spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies to support timely repairs and installations
Provide responsive support for internal teams and customers through remote or on-site troubleshooting
Partner cross-functionally to onboard new programs, conduct site assessments, and support installations
Track and analyze recurring issues, identify root causes, and recommend long-term technical solutions
Drive system and process improvements, ensuring all VMI programs operate at peak performance and comply with company and safety standards
Qualification
Required
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: 2+ years in inventory management, industrial vending, supply-chain technology support, or related field
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot vending or automated dispensing equipment
Familiarity with inventory management systems (CribMaster preferred) and ERP or CRM tools (such as Epicor Prophet 21)
Proficiency with Google Suite and general computer networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LTE, or hardline connectivity)
Proven problem-solver with strong communication skills and attention to detail
Self-directed and comfortable managing multiple technical priorities independently
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to customer locations across the nation via air or vehicle; valid driver's license and insurable driving record required
Preferred
Post-secondary education or major coursework in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
Prior experience implementing or supporting automated inventory dispensing systems, smart lockers, or tool-crib technologies
Experience writing SOPs, technical documentation, or user training materials
Background in food, manufacturing, or distribution industries
Understanding of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
