Electrical Co-op/CAD Operator
M/E Engineering, now known as Salas O’Brien Consulting and Engineering Group of New York, Inc., is seeking students pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree for an Electrical Co-op/CAD Operator position. The role involves performing CAD tasks under supervision, developing professional knowledge, and assisting in design and drawing preparations.

Responsibilities
Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of standard techniques, and procedures in carrying out computer aided design (CAD) tasks
Works under direct supervision of CAD Operator, Designer, or Engineer
Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work
Receives close supervision on new aspects of assignments
Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and solutions
Performs conventional designs, investigations, and surveys for which there are standard procedures
Prepares sketches and other activities of standard procedures and limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed
Applies standard practices and techniques, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies and follows design through a series of related steps
Prepare drawings, locates outlets and devices following detailed layouts, routine drawings
Prepares drawings from architectural plans
Copies details
Inputs mechanical and/or electrical work from freehand sketches
Files blueprints, catalogs, etc
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree
A minimum of High School or Technical School Training
