Responsibilities
Design automated machines, sub-assemblies and/or individual parts utilizing CAD software and based on pre-established rough concepts. This includes the selection of materials and commercial components such as motors, servos, sensors, pneumatics, etc
Interface with commercial component suppliers to verify product features, functionality, cost and availability
Assist with developing concepts for automated equipment projects
Develop quotations for new automation proposals on an as-needed basis
Track, Manage and provide input, direction and feedback for specific projects
Stay abreast of automation industry trends relative to modern machine design techniques, commercial items and new hardware/software
Qualification
Required
4-year degree in Engineering (that includes formal drafting/design training), from a recognized institution is required
3-D Computer Automated Design (CAD) experience, preferably utilizing AutoDesk Inventor
3 years of experience designing manufacturing equipment
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products, especially Word, Excel and MS Outlook
Good communication skills (written and verbal) are required
Leadership skills and the ability to direct others effectively to lead projects is required
Ability to work on a team
A strong work ethic, spirit of cooperation and high moral and ethical standards are required
Preferred
Experience working in the manufacturing industry or for a machine builder a strong plus
