Japanese Speaking Attorney

Beacon Hill’s client, an Am Law firm, is seeking a Japanese Speaking Attorney who can fluently speak, read, and write Japanese. This attorney will support multiple practice groups and must be comfortable learning different areas of law depending on workflow.

Responsibilities

Provide Japanese language support across multiple practice areas
Draft, review, translate, and analyze Japanese written materials as needed
Engage directly with partners and clients in both English and Japanese
Support a mix of work that may include labor and employment, corporate, or litigation matters
Produce clear, accurate written work product
Participate in long term project work with the potential to convert to SPL2
Work exclusively on this assignment with no concurrent legal work

Qualification

Fluent in JapaneseGeneral Counsel experienceClient facing skillsMulti-area law knowledgeWriting skills

Required

Fluent in spoken, reading, and written Japanese
Ability to work directly with partners and be client facing
Strong writing skills
Comfortable working across multiple areas of law
Interested in a long term, stable role with potential for conversion
Licensed and living in a state where the firm has an office

Preferred

Experience as General Counsel, senior in house counsel, or corporate counsel preferred
A Japanese writing sample is helpful but not required. ALTA scores may be accepted
