Stoel Rives LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join their team, which provides conflict of interest analysis and guidance in support of the firm's centralized conflict clearing process. The role involves analyzing conflict reports, drafting consent letters, and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with conflict-related policies.

Responsibilities

Analyze conflict reports for new business and potential new hires and communicate results to effectively reach resolution on conflict requests and document all outcomes

Exercise judgment to escalate to Firm Counsel and the Director of Business Intake and Conflicts any uncertain or unusual conflict situations, as appropriate

As requested by firm attorneys, draft consent letters

Work with the Business Intake Department as needed to construct, monitor, and disable ethical walls

Recommend process/service improvements, solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy to better meet the needs of both internal and external clients

Ensure that services are delivered effectively and efficiently by working collaboratively with firm leadership, practice groups, and other departments; ensure compliance with conflicts related Firm policies and procedures; assist in the development of department procedures and processes; and attend regular staff meetings and training

Required

Juris Doctor degree

Bar membership in the jurisdiction of at least one Firm office location

Solid analytical skills

Sound judgment

Thorough understanding of the conflict of interest rules

Clear written and oral communications

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

Familiarity with standard conflicts search strategy and corresponding software

Preferred

Experience with conflicts of interest analysis or related risk management initiatives

Familiarity with Intapp Open
