Responsibilities
Works independently with little supervision to successfully execute electrical and equipment installation projects/tasks both on and offsite
Ensures personal safety and quality standards are followed
Engages customers during installation project to ensure satisfactory completion
Engages customers while onsite to seek other project opportunities
Ensures organization of all tools and inventory
Performs installation and decommissioning of components, wiring and equipment
Assembles and modifies custom control enclosures and devices per electrical schematics and installation plan documents
Works with Engineering to test, check out, and troubleshoot large, complex systems
Runs wiring and conduit for installation of equipment and systems at customer work sites
Participates in continuous improvement activities
Drives company trucks and vans with trailers
Operates forklifts and manlifts
Coordinates and executes small scale projects with support from Installation Manager
Manages team member(s) during the duration of installation projects with support from Installation Manager
Completes and files appropriate project related paperwork
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training and Safety
Five or more years of experience in any of the following or equivalent experience: Industrial electrical maintenance, Industrial electrical construction and/or service, OEM experience with major manufacturing companies, System Integration and/or Automation equipment installation, Experience working in an industrial environment
Experience in specialty terminations of industrial control panels and devices per electrical schematics (e.g., network cables, fiber-optics, various PLC and I/O components, etc.)
Possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record as well as reliable transportation
Must be able to commute to Smyrna, TN as the permanent job location as well as travel out of state for short term project assignments
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required
Project management for installation projects, including but not limited to the following tasks: Understanding and planning for appropriate project start and completion dates and time, Developing and communicating the appropriate order of operations for the work to be completed to the team member(s), Identifying the appropriate tools and materials to complete the work, and ensuring those tools are brought to the location in which the work will be completed, Managing a small installation team (1–2 team members) and ensuring the successful completion and customer satisfaction for the project, Providing technical instructions and feedback
Reference and interpretation of electrical codes (e.g. NEC, NFPA, UL)
Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics and control diagrams
Strong knowledge of electrical fundamentals
Mechanical and layout skills with enclosures, conduit, and tray
Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Flexibility often required for short notice schedule changes
Regular travel and overnight stays are required for projects out of town
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Two-year technical school, trade school, electrical apprenticeship program, contractor's license or other related industry certificates or licensure
The capability of achieving a Master Electrician or Electrical Contractor certification within 1 year of employment
