Inventory Management Specialist - Detail/Temporary promotion
USAJOBS is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist for the VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network. This position is responsible for managing inventory and logistics for expendable supplies and durable medical equipment within the VA Health Care System.

Responsibilities
Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of an assigned class of expendable material; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment
Returns, Recalls, and Reutilization: Implements federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; coordinates disposal of surplus or excess supplies; makes emergent procurement decisions; and participates in root cause analysis process
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade at any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement
For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05
For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 level in the Federal service
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have at least one (1) full year of graduate level education
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. of J.D., if related
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level
Physical Requirements: Work is normally accomplished in an office setting; however, due to the nature of the position and duties, may be called upon to assist in the receipt, storage and distribution of various supplies, primarily consisting of lifting light boxes generally less than 40 pounds
