Economic Empowerment Advisor - Volunteer Position - Onsite in Uganda - 2 years, plus 3 months training

Responsibilities
Implementing the Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA) model, supporting groups to improve savings and access low-interest credit
Mobilizing new and existing community groups to identify and pursue profitable income generating activities (IGAs)
Co-training communities and youth in entrepreneurship and IGAs that meet the local demand using locally available resources. Common IGAs include mushroom growing, beekeeping, livestock farming, tree nurseries, soap making, alternative fuels and jam & juice making
Strengthening financial literacy and management for community members and local businesses by co-training on topics such as budgeting, marketing and small business management
Improving agricultural productivity and community resilience through environmental activities such as irrigation, water harvesting, agroforestry, and tree planting
Providing ICT training for youth and community members to improve their employability and access to economic opportunities
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be a U.S. citizen
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in any business discipline OR 5 years professional experience in business management
