Gaming Technology Specialist- Family &Volunteer Services

Nationwide Children's Hospital is dedicated to providing quality care for children and families, and they are seeking a Gaming Technology Specialist. This role focuses on providing gaming strategy, training, and technical support for patient-facing technology, engaging patients and families through gaming technologies to support therapeutic goals.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with patients and families to teach and utilize appropriately-assigned gaming and technology-based experiences
Coordinates with clinicians across various departments to identify patients who may benefit from gaming and technology-based interventions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, updates and repairs gaming systems and related peripheral equipment
Maintains updated knowledge on all applicable gaming systems and performs new system configurations
Collaborates with IS, Engineering, Biomed and other NCH teams related to equipment selection and management
Disseminates technical knowledge, including formal training across the Child Life team and related departments
Builds relationships and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain resources and programming; conducts program pilots
Assesses, sets goals, and plans interventions for direct patient interactions
Collaborates with team members on research related to gaming and technology based experiences and outcomes with relation to patient care

Required

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
Effective communication skills
Knowledge with multiple technology-based equipment
Ability to learn new technologies
Ability to be creative in creating tools and methods to teach
Ability to engage adjusting approach to meet situation
Ability to work as part of a team using multiple methods of communication
Two years of related experience
Experience working with school-aged children and above

Preferred

Experience in the gaming field or health care setting
