Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Implement and manage tools to continuously monitor network health and performance
Quickly identify, triage, and remediate network incidents to minimize impact
Assess the impact of network outages and work towards rapid resolution
Provide timely communication and status updates during network incidents
Manage service requests such as firewall rules, DNS configurations, and load balancing
Oversee incident management processes and escalate issues as necessary
Collaborate with network service providers and hardware vendors to ensure high-quality service and support
Plan and execute network device code upgrades to maintain security and performance
Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement improvements
Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and monitor performance metrics
Develop and enforce operational standards and best practices for network management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations and changes
Conduct operational readiness reviews to ensure network changes are properly vetted and tested
Manage maintenance contracts for network hardware and software
Oversee the NOC to ensure continuous monitoring and support of network operations
Manage the queue of network-related tasks and incidents to ensure timely resolution
Provide Tier 1 escalation support for network issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution
Implement and enforce network security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Identify and analyze trends to assess capacity risks and plan for future network needs
Execute automation tasks to improve network efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Maintain comprehensive documentation of the current state of network configurations and operations
Manage network-related project tasks to ensure successful completion
Oversee the management of network incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact
Utilize email and Teams for effective communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders
Develop and manage the network infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource allocation
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Ten years of experience in network management
At least 3 years in a managerial role
Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
Proven ability to lead and manage a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience in managing network-related projects and initiatives

Preferred

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, or equivalent
