Sr. Propulsion Technician

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices. The successful Propulsion Technician will work on satellite propulsion assembly and testing, support the propulsion engineering team, and lead small teams while executing various responsibilities related to propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements
Perform propulsion system assembly, test, and quality control tasks utilizing work instructions and detailed test procedures
Develop and maintain propulsion assembly documentation at the subassembly level: assembly reports, non-conformance reports, test procedures and setups, tooling, and manufacturing drawings
Maintain test and inventory databases for all propulsion production related activities
Troubleshoot and assist investigations for component anomalies and failures, root-cause analysis, and disposition
Develop reference performance test plans and procedures, identify hardware needs, design of test set-ups
Technical support for production and testing of satellite propulsion systems
Work with the spacecraft team to support the validation of requirements, development of the test architecture, implementation of the production work instructions, and test verification of the propulsion subsystem for a spacecraft
Establish strong working relationships within the spacecraft subsystem leads and with the system engineering team, integration and test team, and peers for the other spacecraft subsystems
Generate verification and validation plans, and work with Integration and Test team to ensure the subsystem meets requirements
Understand component interfaces
Prepare and give presentations to peers, management and customers
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Perform other duties as necessary

Required

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in electric propulsion assembly and testing
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field
Strong background in space propulsion assembly, operation, and/or testing, specifically with respect to executing work instructions and test procedures
Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers
Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
