Responsibilities

Performs clinical assignments of advanced scope and complexity under general supervision
Applies a number of standard principles, methods, and practices as necessary in order to adapt practices and techniques to specific situations
Provides information and consultative advice to patients and providers on drug contraindications, adverse effects of drugs, and therapeutic drug selection options
Participates in inter- and intra-departmental hospital training programs for such groups as physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, pharmacists, and community health representatives
Performs physical assessment of patients, and with medical staff approval and local privileging, may assess patients and select, initiate, adjust, and monitor medication regimens, which may include assessing current disease status or diagnosis of new medical conditions

Required

Must have successfully completed a postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
All applicants must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE)
Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors
3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent doctoral degree
Completion of PGY1 program is required to qualify for the PGY2 program
U.S. Citizenship is required
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
