Responsibilities
Build, mentor, and manage a team of talented engineers across iOS, Android and Web platforms, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance
Lead the design and development of integrations, apps, or solutions tailored for the Shopify platform, ensuring seamless performance and alignment with Shopify’s APIs, standards, and merchant ecosystem
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and Shopify stakeholders to drive technical strategy, product fit, and go-to-market readiness for joint initiatives
Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies and methodologies into our engineering practices, ensuring our platforms remain robust and scalable
Advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, and performance, ensuring the team builds scalable and maintainable solutions
Qualification
Required
7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
Strong technical background in any programming language like Java, Python, C, C++
Experience in working with Subscription integrations with vendors like Stripe, Recurly etc
Proven experience building on or integrating with the Shopify platform, including familiarity with Shopify APIs, app development, and merchant-focused solutions
Proven ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, UX, and other stakeholders to define requirements, set expectations, and deliver on project goals
Strategic thinker who can identify challenges and opportunities, implementing solutions that deliver measurable impact
