Responsibilities

The Internal Agency MRI Technologist responds to department critical coverage needs throughout the system for all MRI locations in the system

Competency requires versatility to cover any need throughout system Radiology MRI departments

Performs MRI procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, maintaining high quality imaging and patient welfare as a top priority

Supports didactic training of radiology students through demonstration and constructive guidance

Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines

Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately

Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam

Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam
