The Medical Intake Coordinator will manage the medical registration of new patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure proper treatment planning and communication of patient health information.

Responsibilities

Manages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facility

Provides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry Department

Collects and documents intake information such as medication and health history

Communicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake information

Collects and documents of vital signs, height, weight

Drafting medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry provider

Transcribing medical information to patient’s charts & communicating pertinent information to the treatment team

Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and client facility staff

Provides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measures

Medication, medical supply, and equipment inventory

Initiating Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests

Participates in professional development activities

All other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Director of Nursing
