Responsibilities
Lead enterprise-level design, installation, and configuration
Act as the primary CONUS and global point of contact for network issues, routing, addressing, and multi-protocol connectivity
Solve complex issues using SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MRTG, and other advanced diagnostics tools
Strengthen security through expert configuration of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust-aligned controls
Provide architecture recommendations, performance tuning, and upgrade plans
Update and enforce network documentation, procedures, and standards
Partner with government leaders, medical staff, and technical teams to support mission-critical operations
Qualification
Required
CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional
CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of related experience, OR technical/vocational certification and 10+ years of progressively complex experience
Active SECRET clearance required
Mastery of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VRRP, RSTP, and more
Experience with Cisco environments, Windows AD, UNIX/OpenVMS, routers, switches, and WAN infrastructure
Familiarity with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, optical testing tools (OTDR), cabling standards, and network analyzers
Ability to lead troubleshooting, guide junior staff, and serve as the senior authority for network decisions
Preferred
Strong background supporting DoD health IT systems (highly preferred)
Troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN networks
