Responsibilities

Participate in the development of the quality inspection system
Perform incoming inspection on supplied composite material
Perform in-process inspection during the layup process for composite material
Perform final inspection on completed composite parts
Perform final inspection on the completed Work Order paperwork package
Perform ad hoc part and process inspections

Required

A high-school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years' experience in composite inspection or fabrication and mechanical inspection
Knowledge of basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts
Working knowledge of types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales
Must be familiar with measurements using hand tools such as calipers and micrometers
Familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints and identifying critical, major, and minor characteristics
Understand different testing methods
Understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)
Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds
Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred

2+ years of on-the-job aerospace experience
General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and understanding of the x, y, z coordinate system
Basic knowledge of statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data, and how to recognize out-of-control conditions
Basic knowledge of plan-do-check-act (PDCA)
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certificate
