Responsibilities

Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Non-QM guidelines

Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and the viability of loan transactions, assessing factors such as income, assets, and property valuations

Collaborate with loan officers, account managers, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide clear underwriting decisions

Prepare detailed underwriting summaries and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the underwriting process

Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging Non-QM products

Assist in developing and refining underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Provide exceptional customer service and support to borrowers, lenders, and other partners

Required

Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience, with a strong focus on Non-QM loans

Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Proficient in MLM (Meridian Link) and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field
