Maintenance Supervisor
Daniels Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and reliability of equipment at their medical waste treatment facilities across North America. The role involves supervising maintenance activities, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities for autoclaves, shredders, conveyors, boilers, robotics, HVAC systems, and other plant equipment
Provide timely technical support to maintenance and operational staff
Work closely with on-site maintenance technicians to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues determining the root cause of issues
Train and mentor maintenance staff to uphold operational and safety standards
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, safety checks, and regulatory compliance reports
Manage vendor selection and negotiation for the service of key plant equipment
Coordinate & track outside vendor services, inspections, and repairs for specialized equipment and facility infrastructure
Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement, and cost management
Develop a sound knowledge and complete understanding of the equipment owned and operated by Daniels including but not limited to: Boilers, autoclaves, Wash-lines, compactors, and Robotics
Design, implementation, and compliance of computer maintenance system (Maintain X) procedures and preventative maintenance scheduling to minimize downtime
Oversee, plan, and issue work orders to appropriate team members for the implementation of preventative and any corrective maintenance
Monitor and track maintenance requests, work orders, and performance metrics using CMMS software
Develop and supervise plans for key items of plant equipment & processes to ensure sites meet uptime requirements and minimize maintenance costs and downtime
Design and implement effective machine upgrades and modifications, to achieve improvements in reducing maintenance cost and equipment downtime
Reviews the operation of equipment with appropriate personnel to identify maintenance issues in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Customer Satisfaction
Tracks, analyzes, and improves location’s Key Performance Indicators KPIs (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) to make recommendations for improving plant operations, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and maintenance problem resolution
Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to support continuous improvement and ensure treatment processes run at peak efficiency
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations governing medical waste treatment operations
Maintain a sound knowledge of OHSA regulations and display a superior commitment to workplace safety
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager (waste management, utilities, manufacturing, or related field)
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong technical knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, boilers, robotics, and automated control systems
Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics and develop relevant SOP for technicians
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and other regulatory standards
Experience working in regulated environments regarding process testing
Budget management and vendor coordination experience
Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and support remote and on-site teams
Proficiency in remote collaboration platforms and digital reporting tools
Proficiency in office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Teams) for document creation, data management, and collaboration
Must be available for travel in the USA & Canada to support all sites, as needed
Preferred
Technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
Familiarity with medical waste treatment processes (autoclaves, boilers)
