Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of technical procedures in a section of the Department Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Method development-modification-parallel testing, collaboration on or preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry and phlebotomy duties
Assess overall workload for any area that needs help and help coworkers without being reassigned by the supervisor
Process specimens, perform waived and non-waived testing without direct and constant supervision, and report results without supervisor or director review for the tests that are within their scope of licensure and for which they have been trained and deemed competent

Required

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health
Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field
Two (2) or more years of relevant experience
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position

Preferred

SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking, ASCP) certification
Experience with blood bank information systems (e.g. SoftBank)
Experience with Ortho Vision analyzer
Experience with product modification workflows
