Responsibilities
Recommend and manage electrical improvement projects (e.g., fire distribution system, crane controls, drives upgrades, power quality studies, machine room equipment, cameras)
Address ongoing electrical issues and identify critical spares to ensure operational continuity
Collaborate with internal teams and interface with contractors and vendors to execute capital projects
Maintain accurate records and documentation using SAP and Microsoft Office tools
Monitor key electrical parameters and identify opportunities for system optimization
Support mill operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards
Communicate effectively across departments to align priorities and share technical insights
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries
Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems
Experience with equipment from GE, Allen Bradley, Eaton, and Westinghouse
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts when needed
High self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
Preferred
Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus
