Remote Writer-Editor

Cardinal Education is an elite education consulting company whose mission is to help students maximize their capacities. They are seeking a creative and organized Writer-Editor to develop and enhance written content for college applications, provide feedback, and ensure clarity and structure in students' essays.

Education Management

Responsibilities

Writing and Editing: The Writer-Editor will brainstorm with the College Admissions Team’s Consultants about the direction of the essays, give feedback to students, and edit the students’ rough drafts to fix grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count
Candidates should expect essays to be reviewed and revised through extensive rounds of edits
Research: Depending on the student’s interest and profile, the Writer-Editor will research different topics to strengthen their work
Collaboration: As members of the Editing Team, Writer-Editors are expected to help team members with drafting, brainstorming, augmenting, and reviewing, especially regarding assignments with urgent deadlines
Administration and Logistics: Writer-Editors are responsible for the administrative tasks associated with their assignments
Communicate logistical needs with other team members
Organize send-outs of completed assignments to clients
Draft email updates and reminders regarding assigned clients
Schedule review meetings with Consultants and Senior Editors
Notetaking for other team members during review meetings
Prepare meeting notes for Consultants regarding the status of assignments
Business Development: During the off-season, the Writer-Editor can expect to work on projects that contribute to the growth of the team and company overall
High-Level Skill and Integrity: We do not allow the use of any AI tools such as ChatGPT or Bard because AI-generated content will automatically disqualify a student’s application. If the Writer-Editor is found to be using AI tools, termination is effective immediately
