Regional Sales Manager (Detroit & Toronto)
Oishii is a company that grows the world’s best strawberries using innovative vertical farming technology. They are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive growth in the Detroit and Toronto regions, oversee business development, and manage a small team while collaborating with sales and marketing teams.

Responsibilities
Create, build, and maintain strong partnerships with key retail personnel in order to:
Maintain and grow Oishii sales in order to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual targets
Manage inventory allocations & levels for each account. Ensure orders meet daily demand, based on data
Ensure all accounts are meeting Oishii merchandising & quality standards
Maintain minimum inventory levels in each account in order to prevent any out-of-stock situations
Build Oishii loyalists with key retail staff (buyers, product staff, guest services, etc). A ‘loyalist’ is defined as a staff member who is knowledgeable on our brand, farm and products and will actively recommend Oishii to customers
Lead a team of 2-4+ Part-Time District Sales Associates
Oversight and collaboration with 3rd party merchandising agency which will be active within the region, supporting best-in-category merchandising and store presence/relationships
80%+ time spent in-trade/field during the week and weekends (must have availability on weekends during the month)
Travel to Toronto every other week for store visits (3-5 days in market) as well as occasionally weekend visits to support market growth
Opening new independent grocery accounts as required and involvement in the local food community
Daily collaboration with sales leadership and distribution team to manage inventory allocations and order fulfillment. Proactively develop distribution strategies in order to maintain 100% utilization
Identify & develop opportunities in the region that will grow consumer awareness and drive trials, truly owning the region and driving sampling opportunities
Develop a keen understanding of potential partners (such as restaurants, cultural societies, bakeries/ice cream shops) and events (food events, sporting events, etc) in the Detroit & Toronto region that will be critical in building an effective field marketing strategy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years of field sales/management experience and a track record of success, ideally within CPG/Grocery
Must be capable of standing, walking, and working on feet for prolonged periods
Must be able to lift 40 pounds as the role may require moving promotional equipment and restocking merchandise
Must live in the designated market area of Detroit and be able to travel to the Toronto, Canada Region every other week
Valid US driver's license required and have a reliable vehicle you are willing to use to travel in the assigned region
Ability to quickly shift priorities to meet deadlines and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with purpose at various levels of the organization
Ability to work cross functionally at all levels including across locations, and collaborate with a focus on supporting & understanding the evolving business needs of a startup environment
Ability to lead through others and develop teams with a diverse level of experience to succeed
Ability to remove obstacles in order to prioritize which could include problem solving, working through ambiguity and using fact based or sound judgment in the absence of process or policy
Ability to synthesize information quickly to aid in the troubleshooting process
Possessing an entrepreneurial mindset with the tenacity to develop ideas, process, and policy and implement them rapidly
Capable of prioritizing tasks and considering the resources available when doing so
A bias for action! Ability to hold yourself accountable and take ownership of driving results that impact company outcomes
Track record of effectively handling complex employee relations issues, and addressing sensitive information and difficult situations with tact, discretion, and confidentiality
