PPG is a leading company in innovation and sustainability, seeking a Process Development Engineer to contribute to their OLED coatings team. The role involves managing the development and scale-up of high vacuum purification processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance while fostering collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

Design, development, and scale-up of the final stage purification process for emitter and host OLED materials. Steps will include annealing, seeded crystallization, high vacuum purification by sublimation/distillation, and optimizing bulk properties such as density through milling methods

Ensure processes are efficient, reliable, scalable, and compliant with EHS standards

Construct strategies to enhance performance, increase throughput, and resolve technical issues

Collaborate with technicians, chemists, and operations

Design and conduct experiments (DOE) to scale from lab to pilot and mass production

Present findings, updates, and recommendations at weekly team meetings

Maintain documentation for process validation, quality control, and regulatory compliance

Research technologies, innovations, and new equipment to overcome technical challenges

Required

BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, or related

2+ years' experience creating Design of Experiments (DOE)

Knowledge of EHS standards and regulatory compliance

Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

Excellent documentation and communication skills

Preferred

Experience with high vacuum process development and scale-up, and cleanroom operations is desirable

Experience using statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP or similar or experience using SQL or Python in a similar capacity
